Senior Cost Manager

Location: West Coast, USA (California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona & Nevada) About the Company Our client is a leading Owner's Representative and Project Management Consultancy, delivering some of the most complex hyperscale and colocation data center developments across North America. With an expanding portfolio of projects for global technology clients, they are seeking experienced Cost Managers to join their growing West Coast team. This is an excellent opportunity to work client-side, supporting the delivery of high-profile mission-critical projects from early planning and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and close-out. The Role As a Senior Cost Manager, you will play a key role in the commercial success of large-scale data center developments, working closely with clients, consultants, designers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, providing strategic commercial advice, cost planning, reporting, and financial oversight across multiple fast-paced hyperscale and colocation developments. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts. Manage project costs throughout design, procurement, construction, and close-out. Review contractor pricing, change orders, valuations, and payment applications. Lead cost reporting and present commercial updates to clients and senior stakeholders. Monitor project budgets, identify commercial risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Support procurement activities including tender analysis and contract negotiations. Review value engineering opportunities while maintaining project objectives. Work closely with project managers, design consultants, contractors, and client teams. Maintain accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and financial controls across multiple projects. Support contract administration and commercial management activities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of experience in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or Commercial Management. Experience delivering data center, hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, semiconductor, healthcare, or advanced technology projects. Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and change management. Experience working within a consultancy, owner's representative, developer, or major contractor environment. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and cost management software; experience with Primavera P6 or Power BI is advantageous.
