Why Lactation Consultants Choose This Role Provide specialized care for mothers and babies Collaborate with RNs, pediatricians, OBs and neonatologists Support both routine and complex feeding needs Day-one health, dental and vision benefits Career growth and professional development Facility: East Cooper Medical Center | Location: Mount Pleasant, SC | Position Type: Full-Time | Work Schedule: Four 8-hour shifts/week starting by 8:30 a.m.; weekend and holiday rotation What You'll Do Conduct comprehensive lactation assessments, including latch, positioning, milk transfer and infant weight patterns. Develop and document evidence-based, individualized feeding plans for complex breastfeeding challenges. Collaborate with RNs, pediatricians, obstetricians and neonatologists to coordinate care and safe discharge planning. Educate families through bedside coaching, outpatient breastfeeding classes and community support groups. Guide families on breast pumps, specialized feeding tools and donor milk options What We're Looking For Education : High School Diploma, required. 4 Year/ Bachelor's Degree, preferred. Experience : Minimum of one year of experience in mother/baby care or breast feeding education, required. Licensure/Certification/Registration : Current IBCLC certification, required. Current RN licensure in appropriate state, preferred. Additional Skills : Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
