Locum Physician Oncology

**Coverage Dates:**- November 2 - January 29- Clinic Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

- Weekend Call Rotation: Friday at 4:30 PM to Monday at 8:00 AM approximately every 5th or 6th weekend

**Position Overview:**

- **Practice Setting:** Standalone Cancer Center

- **Call Schedule:** One week of call every 6-8 weeks

- **Patient Demographics:** Adult and Geriatric populations

**Clinical Focus:**- Hematology: 65% (Benign)- Oncology: 35% (Malignant)

- Internal Medicine: 0%

**Practice Composition:**

- Total Physicians: 7

- Advanced Practice Providers (APPs): 6

- Average Outpatient Volume: 25 patients per day

- Average Inpatient Volume (during call/rounding): 20 patients per day

**Clinical Settings:**- Outpatient Oncology- Inpatient Oncology

- Trauma Level/Designation: Not Applicable

**Documentation:**- EMR System: EPIC

**Key Responsibilities:**- Participation in Tumor Board Meetings

- Management of Bone Marrow Transplants

- Blood Bank Oversight- Ordering Laboratory Tests and Imaging

- Prescribing Treatment

**Chemotherapy Administration:** Conducted by Nurse Oncologist

**Credentialing Timeline:** Approximately 60 days

**Facility Compensation for Travel Expenses:** Includes reimbursement for flight hotel rental car and mileage at the IRS standard rate.

**Additional Information:**- The position requires managing more than 12 patients per day.

- Inpatient coverage is mandatory; candidates unwilling to provide inpatient services will be excluded from consideration.- Outpatient and inpatient services are covered separately; a provider will not manage both on a single day.

**Work Shift:**- Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

**Mandatory Qualifications:**

- Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology (Required)

- Active South Carolina Medical License (Required)

- BLS and DEA Certification (Required)

- Candidates must confirm availability for 2-4 weeks per month (Required)

- Clean background is essential for emergency temporary privileges (Required)
