Sales Representative - Pet Counselor

Summary:

Do you enjoy working with customers and working with animals? If so, join our team as a Pet Counselor! We are actively hiring outgoing individuals who are competitive, friendly and engaging to help us drive sales and deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a Pet Counselor you will be responsible for educating our customers and matching the right pet with the right customer and meeting the needs of both.

This is an uncapped sales commission position.

Responsibilities:

• Achieving growth and hitting sales targets
• Ability to follow operating systems and directions from Manager
• Flexibility and stamina to work retail hours
• Ability to work with a team of employees as well as other departments to ensure that business goals are met
• Promote a positive, supportive, team-oriented working environment for all staff
• Must be able to comfortably and repetitively lift 25 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Must be able to wear and maintain the PetCenter uniform

Job Requirements:

• Successful previous experience in sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
• Previous commission based sales experience preferred
• Proven ability to drive the sales process
• Provide dynamic customer service, while educating our customers through teaching proper pet care
• Maintain excellent animal husbandry for the pets by performing opening, daily and closing procedures and assisting in maintaining a clean, organized and safe store environment
• Assist in Community Service projects in and out of the store as directed
• *Assist Animal Care Technicians with any additional animal care as needed
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management

• This position requires availability for a mix of BOTH shifts between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Summer hours may extend opening until 9:30pm. Please confirm which of these time frames you are available to work and which days of the week you are available. Weekends availabilty mandatory.
