Job Description:

Safely operate company-owned tractor-trailers in compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Deliver steel products according to assigned routes and schedules while maximizing efficiency and maintaining on-time performance.
Perform required DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors and trailers to ensure safe operating conditions.
Accurately complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and all required driving documentation.
Assist with the safe loading, securing, and unloading of steel products.
Provide courteous, professional customer service during pickups and deliveries while representing Norfolk Iron & Metal in a positive manner.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and promptly report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or equipment deficiencies.
Comply with all company policies, DOT regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local transportation laws.

Required:

Class A CDL: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Applicants must also possess a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (medical card) and meet all Norfolk Iron & Metal and Department of Transportation (DOT) employment qualifications.
Safety Commitment: Demonstrated ability to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable DOT regulations while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position and meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
