A Little More About What You Will Be Doing The Medical Scribe assists a physician in the clinical setting by observing and transcribing medical information during patient encounters and supporting the documentation process, both during and after patient visits. Transcribe patient history and other relevant information into the electronic medical record. Review and reconcile the patient’s medication and allergy list. Accurately document patient encounters based on the physician’s verbal dictation. Perform clerical tasks such as encounter reconciliation and notify the physician of missing information, including transcription, history, and review of systems details. Maintain physician‑to‑physician written communication, including required corrections, review, mailing, and faxing of the final draft in a timely manner to the correct addressee. May perform additional front‑office or back‑office responsibilities as needed, such as appointment scheduling and patient rooming. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Certification by the American Association for Medical Transcription preferred. Experience Six months experience as a medical scribe or related training, or an equivalent of related education and experience, is preferred and required. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cedars-Sinai
