Fraud Analyst

Hours: Approx. 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday W/ some Saturdays.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Depending on prior related working experience.

This is a hybrid position with occasional in-office days required. Applicants must be reside within a reasonable commute to the Canyon View Credit Union Financial Center in West Jordan, UT.

Your Purpose will be:

The person in this position will review and analyze fraud reports, risk alerts and various reports to reduce the level of risk exposure to members, and process fraud claims according to policies and regulations. What you'll do:

• Assist members/branch/departments with Fraud related questions via phone and email.
• Contact members to verify transactions for alerts received from various fraud detection systems.
• Review and analyze fraud trends to determine possible member exposure to fraud. And if warranted, freeze accounts, user access, and transactions.
• Work fraud queues or emails to potential fraud alerts, scams, bad accounts, check, ACH etc.
• Work fraud alerts and create cases in fraud system.
• Review miscellaneous fraud reports.
• Research fraud patterns and scams and document.
• Update and maintain fraud logs.
• Write procedure and educational documents.
• Participate in mentoring and training other employees.
• Understands the Bank Secrecy Act and how it is applied.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The experience you need to succeed:

• One to two years similar or related experience.
• Must have a High School diploma, GED, or other equivalent.
• Experience in the financial industry is strongly preferred.
• Good working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Be proficient with business machinery and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Works primarily in a remote office environment with occasional days in the office. (Hybrid or work from home employees must be able to report in office if required.)
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly need to: see, talk, hear, and perform repetitive movements with arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, grasp and reach. A computer, phone -possibly including a smart phone, and standard office equipment are normal tools for this position. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee may at times also need to: climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
