Overview Athletics Statistician — Brown University Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for multiple Athletics Statistician positions. This role assists the athletics communications staff in the keeping of live statistics at athletic events. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes participating in NCAA Division I. Job Description All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations. Duties are performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; any rules violations must be reported to the compliance office. Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division). Responsibilities Input or call every statistical occurrence at athletic events using either Stat Crew or Genius Stats Assist athletic communications staff in other game day needs as they arise Submit stat packages to NCAA, Conference offices, and competing teams Candidate Pool Requirements Must have knowledge of or be willing to learn both Stat Crew and Genius Stats systems Must be able to work quickly and accurately under extreme time pressure Must have a comprehensive knowledge of a given sport 's rules and regulations Must have knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules During events, may interact with assigned game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff Must be able to observe and react quickly to events to accurately input all game stats into Stat Crew/Genius Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment Background Check – Criminal, Education: All offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown Benefits Benefits information is available; details can be found by following the information on the Brown Benefits page.
