You’ll work closely with the dentist and the rest of the clinical team to provide personalized preventive and periodontal care while creating a positive, respectful experience for every patient. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Performing oral health assessments, dental prophylaxis, periodontal treatment, periodontal maintenance, and other hygiene related services Reviewing patients’ medical and dental histories Taking and interpreting dental radiographs within the hygienist’s scope of practice Educating and coaching patients on home care, preventive health, and long-term hygiene routines Collaborating with dentists to support comprehensive treatment planning Reinforcing treatment recommendations and helping patients understand their oral health needs Accurately documenting assessments, procedures, and patient conversations Following infection control, OSHA, and clinical safety standards Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment Supporting a smooth patient experience and positive team workflow What We’re Looking For Strong knowledge of preventive dentistry, dental prophylaxis, and periodontal care A patient-centered approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based environment Attention to detail in charting, clinical documentation, and patient records Knowledge of infection control standards, OSHA requirements, and dental radiography CPR certification Familiarity with dental practice management or electronic health record systems Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred, where permitted by state law A commitment to continuing education and professional growth About Aspen Dental Aspen Dental is part of TAG – The Aspen Group, a family of healthcare support companies focused on expanding access to quality care across the United States.
