Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology

Job Summary Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Surgery Institute is seeking a full‑time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing cardiology practice in the Western Region – Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities Combination practice of outpatient clinic in Lewistown and inpatient consultations at the assigned base hospital. No on‑call but rotating weekend coverage. Option for 10‑hour days. Physician assistant works under the responsibility and supervision of a physician; nurse practitioner works in collaboration with a physician. Complete all required certifications and licensure before starting work. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Physician Assistant (Required), Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant (Preferred). Experience: Relevant clinical experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification; Certified Physician Assistant – National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); current Pennsylvania state licensure (or eligibility to obtain). Required for Nurse Practitioner: Certificate of completion from an approved NP program or eligibility to hold national certification that permits work with patient populations and settings associated with this position; eligibility for licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania. Skills: Care management knowledge, clinical policies and standards, health information documentation, patient assessment and care, patient safety, patient rights.
