Custodian - 2nd ShiftThe Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District's Facilities Department has a Custodian position available.POSITION DESCRIPTION: CUSTODIAN - 2nd ShiftLOCATION: TBDQUALIFICATIONS:Ability to perform custodial duties. Experience preferredBasic computer skills preferred.Maintain and care for buildings, site, and equipment as assignedMaturity and good moral character with the personality and human relation skills to work well in a school setting.REPORTS TO: Head Custodian/Building Principal/Director of FacilitiesSUPERVISED BY: Director of Facilities/Head Custodian/Building PrincipalPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Uses only supplies and equipment approved by the Head Custodian and Director of FacilitiesMaintains the highest possible standards of cleanliness in their respective schoolRoutinely inspects assigned area and fire escapes and reports damage and all needed repairs promptly to Head Custodian or building principalWorks on a schedule as determined by the Head Custodian and changes to assignment made by Head Custodian or Director of Facilities, and Principal onlyConducts summer cleaning program and paints as designated by Head Custodian and the Director of FacilitiesKnowledge of AHERA, Right to Know laws, Bloodborne Pathogens.Receives deliveries to building and stores or delivers them as directed by Principal or Head Custodian or other authorized building personResponsible for the opening and closing of building and building security when school is not in session.Maintains flag as per PrincipalIs responsible for snow and ice removal from school walkways, fire escapes, etc.Makes minor repairs and adjustments that don't interfere with regular duties, or violate other areas of contractReports and repairs any minor damage to school property and graffiti on or in the immediate vicinity of school buildings and reports repeated violations to Head Custodian and PrincipalMaintains all supplies needed to perform their assigned jobsChanges light bulbs as needed without extraordinary measuresResponsible for all cleaning in assigned area which includes but is not limited to sweeping, washing, dusting, and trash removalEnsure custodian closets, boiler room and other areas of building are secure from unauthorized access by students and personnelGuards against waste or theft of school property or utilitiesPerforms other appropriate school-related tasks (within confines of the contract) as requested by Head Custodian, Director of Facilities and/or PrincipalFosters a positive attitude and take pride in their appearanceContacts the Head Custodian and Director of Facilities whenever the need for an absence from work is necessary. 1 hour before shift begins - 1st shift; 4 hours before shift begins - 2nd shift (Except for extreme extenuating circumstances)TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:WORK YEAR: Full YearBENEFITS: As negotiated by the Bridgewater-Raynham Superintendent of SchoolsRATE OF PAY: As negotiated by the BRSC and AFSCMEPhysical Demands: Light to moderate physical effort is generally required in performing duties in this environment.
