Skilled Trades Recruiter – Nationwide Staffing Location: Bay Area preferred | Remote considered Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000, based on experience Additional Compensation: Uncapped commission This Is Not a Maintenance Recruiting Role Essel Skilled Trades is looking for a high-performance recruiter who can move quickly, compete in a demanding market, and consistently deliver skilled tradespeople to projects nationwide. We operate in a high-volume staffing environment where urgency, follow-through, and measurable production matter. You must be comfortable owning your results, working through setbacks, and maintaining your pace when competition is high. We want someone with an athlete-achiever mindset: disciplined, coachable, competitive, and motivated by the scoreboard. You do not need an athletic background—but you should understand preparation, accountability, and the drive to improve. What You’ll Own Recruit skilled tradespeople for construction projects nationwide Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates Conduct high-volume outbound recruiting calls and outreach Complete structured candidate interviews and skills assessments Match candidates to opportunities based on experience, location, availability, and job requirements Present qualified candidates to clients and hiring managers Drive candidates through onboarding, placement, and successful starts Maintain accurate candidate records, activity, and pipeline data Follow up with placed employees and help prevent avoidable service failures Respond quickly when priorities, schedules, or project needs change Take personal ownership of open orders and placement results Your Scoreboard This position is driven by production data. You will be expected to understand, track, and improve the numbers that lead to successful placements, including: Outbound phone calls and candidate conversations Candidate interviews and completed screens Placements and successful starts Conversion rates between each stage Weekly gross profit and production growth Candidate retention and assignment performance Activity alone is not enough. The goal is to understand how your activity converts into results—and make adjustments when it does not. What We’re Looking For Skilled trades, construction, industrial, or high-volume staffing experience preferred Proven ability to recruit in a fast-moving agency environment Strong phone presence and willingness to make a high volume of outbound calls Ability to evaluate trade experience, reliability, and jobsite readiness Comfortable being measured against clear daily and weekly performance expectations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Self-directed and capable of maintaining urgency without constant supervision Competitive, resilient, and comfortable receiving direct coaching Able to manage multiple open positions across different markets and time zones Motivated by performance-based compensation and uncapped earning potential Who Will Succeed Here You will do well in this role if you: Compete against your own numbers every week Hate leaving opportunities unfinished Recover quickly when a candidate backs out or a placement falls apart Use data to diagnose problems instead of making excuses Take ownership when results are off track Want your performance to directly influence your income Thrive in an environment with high expectations and visible accountability This role will not be a fit for someone who needs constant direction, avoids the phone, becomes discouraged by rejection, or is uncomfortable having their production measured. Compensation and Work Arrangement The base salary range is $65,000–$75,000 , depending on relevant experience. The position also includes an uncapped commission structure , giving strong performers the ability to significantly increase their total compensation. We prefer candidates who can work onsite with our team in the Bay Area. Remote candidates may be considered if they have a proven record of production, accountability, and success recruiting skilled trades in an agency environment.
