Exceeding expectations every day.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport product locally, usually within a 300-mile radiusDepending on the specific job, drivers may be responsible for loading and unloading produce onto their vehicle, this could involve physical labor and the use of equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacksPlanning the most efficient route for deliveries within the designated area, taking into account factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedulesConducting daily routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition, including checking fluid levels, tires, breaks, and lights; promptly reporting and addressing any issuesKeep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel compensation, and any other relevant information requiredInteracting with customers and clients in a professional and courteous manner during deliveries, this may involve obtaining signatures for delivery confirmation, answering questions and addressing any concerns or issues that ariseEnsuring compliance with all relevant regulations, including those set forth by Department of Transportation (DOT) and other governing bodies, this includes maintaining proper licensing and certifications, as well as adhering to hours-of-service regulationsPrioritizing safety at all times, both for oneself and for others on the road, this includes following safe driving practices, properly securing cargo, and being aware of potential hazardsMaintaining open communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to provide updates on delivery statuses, delays, and any other pertinent informationWilling to work various hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays, depending on the demands of the jobPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEducation And Experience:High school diploma, or equivalentMinimum of one year of tractor/trailer driving experienceMust be 21 years of ageRequired Skills And Abilities:Strong knowledge of safety regulationsProficient at driving, maneuvering, and parking large vehiclesMust pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening & be registered with the Drug Clearing HousePass a road test administered by Alsum TransportValid state Class A Commercial Driver's License with acceptable motor vehicle recordSelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) softwarePhysical/Environmental Demands:Prolonged periods sitting/drivingPhysically fit (able to pass required physical every 2 years)
