Financial Reporting Accountant

Job Title: Financial Reporting Accountant Job Description The Financial Reporting Accountant will primarily be responsible for assisting in the preparation of timely, complete, and accurate consolidated monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of shareholders equity, and statement of cash flows. This role involves coordinating and managing the consolidation of internal reporting analyses from various business groups for management analysis and external reporting. Additionally, the role involves preparing work papers and documentary evidence in support of SEC filings and SOX controls, and working directly with internal and external auditors to assist in their quarterly procedures. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the consolidation of internal reporting analyses from various business groups. Prepare work papers and documentary evidence supporting SEC filings and SOX controls. Assist internal and external auditors with quarterly procedures over financial reporting evidence. Update, coordinate, manage, and field questions from internal business groups regarding reporting analyses. Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting packages. Provide support for the external reporting team. Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as required. Collaborate with accounting and internal controls teams to ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place. Field questions from internal and external auditors regarding the reporting process and controls. Essential Skills Financial reporting Month-end close process Financial statement preparation Public accounting experience Strong and extensive knowledge of US GAAP Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 2+ years of work experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting role for a public/private company Previous experience with multi-unit organizations with foreign operations (preferred) CPA certification (preferred) Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills Work Environment The position allows for a hybrid work environment, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, and in the office from Tuesday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.87/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
