Overall Responsibilities The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing accounts to generate business and meet/exceed room revenue goals. Target specific markets and or accounts as assigned. Essential Job Functions Assists the General Manager in analyzing the hotel's Revenue Management strategy using such tools as Star Reports, demand analysis and applicable front office systems. Organizes, maintains, and inputs sales data. Thorough understanding and execution of the sales call process. Be well informed about the market. Must have well-developed interpersonal skills. Form client working relationships with the premier businesses in the market. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, processing software, spreadsheet software and internet. Conduct direct sales solicitation through phone calls, email communication, appointments, site tours and lunches. Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with specified accounts to create trust, loyalty and lasting business relationships. Follow up on all leads in a timely manner. Have a great eye for detail. Be informed about daily operations. Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimum supervision. All other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Previous hotel sales and/or Marriott experience preferred but not required. Certificates and Licenses Valid Driver's License and transportation to and from work required.
