Warehouse Assistant

Assist in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining inventory control.

Qualifications:

• Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
• Clear and valid Texas driver's license
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions Ability to learn new software Ability to keep organized both physically and digitally Ability to perform basic math Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Experience: Warehousing or inventory experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage.
• Receive and input data into database.
• Tag fixed assets and input data into TEAMS/Prologic software.
• Keep accurate logs of tagged assets.
• Assist in district-wide inventory.
• Load and unload delivery trucks as needed.
• Unpack items and inspect shipments for damage and defects.
• Fill requisitions from stock items.
• Verify accuracy of orders pulled.
• Pickup and deliver materials as needed.
• Sort and store items according to established inventory systems and procedures.
• Assist in conducting physical inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies and verify against inventory control totals.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Requisition additional supplies from purchasing department as directed.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment following established inspection procedures to identify needed repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used:

• Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or van.

• Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress
• Physical Demands: Heavy lifting, light carrying, reaching above shoulder Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing, grasping, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
• Prolonged use of computers
• Environmental Demands: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours Works around machinery with moving parts
