Lab Assistant

Position Overview:
The Lab Assistant will perform a variety of duties to support faculty and student utilizing the biology laboratory. Under guidance of the Lab Manager, this position will prepare labs in Biology with necessary reagents, organisms, equipment and instrumentation in a timely fashion. Labs include but are not limited to: Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Physiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Field Biology, Gross Anatomy, Ecology and General Biology.


Experience:

• Laboratory experience is strongly preferred
• Experience in modern biology methodologies preferred.
• Familiarity with dissection equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with making chemical solutions and disposal preferred.
• Experience within a gross anatomy lab is ideal

Related Duties:

• Perform related clerical duties including, but not limited to, updating statistical records.
• Evening and weekend hours are required.
• Hours are flexible to accommodate needs.

• Preserve honesty and integrity in the professional affairs of the University; adhere to high standards of ethical practices and conduct.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in biology, biochemistry or related field.
• Associates degree in a relevant science.
