2027 Spring Co-Op, Surgical Development Engineer (ME/BME Focus)

Zimmer Biomet seeks undergraduate engineering students for a Spring 2027 co-op in surgical device development. The role involves supporting new product introduction projects through verification testing, design documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in an FDA-regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct verification testing and quality assurance for surgical implant and instrument projects
• Develop and maintain Design History File (DHF) documentation for regulatory compliance
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives under project manager direction
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and on-time delivery
• Apply problem-solving and statistical tools to address design and development challenges

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in B.S./B.E. engineering program (Mechanical or Biomedical preferred)
• GPA 3.2 or higher preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for entire co-op session
• U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship required
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience with CAD systems, GD&T, or project management a plus
