Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a telemetry unit, ensuring optimal monitoring and postoperative recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans tailored to cardiac and vascular needs.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, promptly recognizing and responding to abnormalities.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and safety protocols.
• Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, post-discharge care, and health management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless recovery.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in telemetry or cardiac nursing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, post-procedural care, and vascular surgery protocols.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating patient acuity levels, including flexing to SDU care as needed.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
