About the Position

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: General Abdominal/Obstetric Small Parts Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 3 Years License: Appropriate licensure required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Must-Have: - Proficient in operating medical imaging equipment that directs high-frequency sound waves for diagnostic purposes. - Able to obtain high-quality imaging for Radiologist interpretation. - General understanding of Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) and its function. Description: The position involves preparing patients for ultrasound examinations and other special procedures as directed. Demonstrate the ability to obtain adequate images of anatomy for proper diagnosis. Consult with radiologists for exam review prior to patient discharge. Provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians in special procedures. Demonstrate anatomy necessary for examinations performed. Responsible for troubleshooting techniques regarding machine malfunction. Notify Clinical Engineering if needed. Ensure clinical history is appropriate. Verify orders and patient identification with two established identifiers. Utilize full operation of ultrasound units and probes. Obtain adequate imaging of requested anatomy with correct labeling of body part and viewing plane. Show competence within the EPIC system. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the PACS system and ability to utilize it. Ability to send images after hours when required. Competent to perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes per policy. Maintain accurate patient records for all procedures performed while adhering to patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards. Demonstrate compassion, integrity, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.
