Sales Rep to Close Warm Inbound Leads - US, Part Time

I run a small software studio in California. We build custom software for US businesses - inventory sync tools, internal dashboards, AI features, integrations, that kind of work.

We already have a system that finds business owners who are actively looking to hire a developer and starts the conversation with them by text. It works. People reply. What we don't have is a person to pick those conversations up and close them. That's the job. You are not cold calling from a list - these are warm leads who already raised their hand.

WHAT YOU'D ACTUALLY DO

Reply to US business owners who have already responded to us. Mostly Zoom calls and text messages. Understand what they want built, in plain language, and explain how we'd approach it. You will not write code - you get an AI assistant on screen that pulls the technical answer for you, plus written notes on every offer and price we have. Get them to a small first project (usually $400, and they only pay after it works), then to a bigger build. Work through our backlog of leads that need a human touch, and keep clean notes.

WHAT YOU NEED

Good written English in a normal, casual register. We text people like people - lowercase, short, no "I hope this message finds you well". If that's already how you write, you're most of the way there. Comfortable on video with a stranger. Based in the US, working US hours, 15 hours a week to start and flexible within that. Reliable - if you say you're on at 9, you're on at 9\. Curious about how things work: you do not need to be technical, you need to be the kind of person who reads how something works and can explain it back to someone who doesn't.

WHAT YOU DON'T NEED

Sales experience. Training, scripts, call recordings and an AI assistant are all provided. No degree, no technical background, and no leads of your own - we generate the leads.

A REAL PLUS

If you've messed around with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or anything similar, even just on a side project, say so. It is not a requirement and you will not be writing any code. It just tells me you're the kind of person who goes and figures things out, and that's most of what this job is.

PAY

$20/hr, 15 hrs/week to start, more when volume supports it. Contractor, invoiced, paid twice a month.

Plus commission: Set upon performance and salary (TBD but will be significant!!)

Paid trial week first: $250 for five days at about four hours a day. You get paid whether or not we continue.
