Job Responsibilities:
- Duties may include but are not limited to:
- ssessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
- Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
- Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
- hanging dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
- djusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
- Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
- -Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- nswering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
- Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
- dhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
- cute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year.
- Post Acute Facilities: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in either Post Acute Facility or acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year.
- Physical assessment.
- Medication administration.
- Wound care & Infection control
- IV therapy.
- Post-operative care.
- Patient education.
- Telemetry monitoring.
- Preferred Skills & Experience:-EPIC EMR experience.
- Knowledge of Oasis
- ssociates Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute.
- Preferred Education:
- N/A
Required Certification & Licensure:
- New York State RN License & Primary Source Verification.
- HA BLS.
- HA ACLS (Queens only).
