We are seeking an experienced Operations Planner to oversee production planning, scheduling, and materials coordination for highly engineered products in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment .
This is a highly visible role working closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Executive Leadership to ensure materials, resources, and production schedules align to deliver quality products on time.
What You'll Do
- Develop and manage master production schedules, work orders, and manufacturing plans to support on-time delivery.
- Coordinate production activities across engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, and customer support teams.
- Monitor inventory levels, material availability, supplier performance, and long-lead components to prevent production delays.
- Track production status, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve throughput and schedule adherence.
- Plan manufacturing capacity, labor utilization, and resource allocation across multiple production areas.
- Support ERP/MRP planning, inventory management, and production reporting.
- Analyze production metrics, KPIs, lead times, and operational performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve shortages, quality concerns, and delivery issues.
- Maintain production documentation while supporting quality standards, traceability requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with leadership on initiatives to improve scheduling accuracy, inventory performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of production planning, operations planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in an electronics or technical manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting low-volume, high-mix manufacturing operations.
- Strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Made2Manage, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Electronics, telecommunications, aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, CPIM, CSCP, or PMP certifications.
- Experience managing complex BOMs, inventory planning, capacity planning, and supplier coordination.
- Familiarity with quality systems, production KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
