Senior Varicent Functional & Technical Solution Architect

Position Summary

CVS Health is looking for a Functional & Technical Expert for the Varicent Sales Performance Management (SPM) platform to join our Human Resources Technology team. We’re seeking an experienced and motivated individual who is ready to take on the challenge of supporting Compensation business operations by providing optimal and scalable technology solutions.

This person will be an integral part of a team responsible for Compensation solutions meeting the needs of CVS Health’s Total Rewards, and Human Resources business partners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of functional and technical expertise, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical partners. You will provide integral support to the Compensation Team for their sales incentive technology needs collaborating with HR Shared Services across all business segments. You will establish cross-functional relationships throughout HR Technology and Human Resources to ensure solutions and initiatives are effectively designed and implemented.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with business and technical partners to support the Compensation functional area for Sales Incentives, including the established list of global priorities and roadmaps.
• Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to develop vision, goals and roadmap for the Product.
• Understand the needs of the business and evaluate Varicent capabilities through research and testing.
• Gather requirements, business process optimization, fit-gap analysis, functional design, configuration and testing. Create necessary documentation in each stage.
• Lead the translation of business requirements to technical solutions and create appropriate timelines. Encourage product innovation and alternative ways of approaching business.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the Varicent SPM platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
• Configure, customize, and develop Varicent enhancements, including calculations, workflows, incentives, rules, and compensation plan components, and creates the necessary documentation at each stage.
• Design, build, and maintain complex Varicent reports, dashboards, analytics, and audit capabilities to support operational and business reporting requirements.
• Responsible for fit-gap analysis, functional design, application configuration, user acceptance testing and maintenance of the software solution.
• Perform and support user acceptance testing and creates necessary documentation including test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test results.
• Ensure up to date documentation, necessary approvals and artifacts are documented and maintained in tracking tools.
• Maintain clear and up to date list of key deliverables and timelines, developing plans to achieve those targets and proactively communicating progress to a variety of stakeholders.
• Responsible for timely delivery of Varicent enhancements, project requests and defects, with optimal and scalable solutions.
• Ensure that the delivered product meets or exceeds the business' needs and business objectives.
• Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to maintain transparency, consistency in delivery, and set expectations.
• Integrate relevant data and information and apply the findings to positively impact strategy and share key insights and actions based on data and metrics.
• Challenge partners to think differently regarding business processes and operational issues; act as a thought partner and model creative problem solving to impact business decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve platform performance, maintainability, automation, and user experience.
• Maintain awareness of new and planned Varicent functionality, actively engaging with the vendor to prepare and communicate changes that could impact business.
• Actively participate in vendor releases, engaging with release team on cross-functional initiatives and liaising with Business Leads on critical impacts and upcoming enhancement opportunities. Support regression testing and guide regression testing teams.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to product team and shared services teams, with accountability for mentoring and developing team members.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in a Varicent Functional or Technical Lead role.
• 8+ years' experience configuring and debugging Business Processes and building solutions in Varicent SPM platforms.
• 8+ years' experience working with business to gather requirements, perform fit gap analysis, design solutions, create functional designs, configuring SaaS applications, performing user acceptance testing, and maintaining the health of the product.
• 5+ years Varicent SPM platform experience, including calculations, workflows and configuration.
• 5+ years of experience configuring and building integrations between Varicent and enterprise systems.
• 5+ years' experience generating Varicent reports for analysis, data auditing and supporting requests from various business teams.
• 4+ years of experience with Varicent integration architecture and design patterns.

• Experience supporting HR systems for large organizations with non-exempt employees.
• Experience supporting international employees.
• Ability to lead a team in a matrix organization while managing multiple priorities.
• Working in a Product Model with product ownership experience with accountability to the health of the product.
• Strong organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to develop and sustain relationships with business partners and stakeholders, including working with business partners to optimize their business processes.
• A strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong work ethic, a self-starter mentality, and the ability to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• Experience with Project Management, Change Management and Communications.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
