8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Position Overview

Medicos is seeking a motivated, patient-focused Orthotic Fitting Specialist to support our growing orthotic fitting program throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

This position is ideal for a Texas Licensed Orthotist Assistant, Certified Orthotic Fitter or qualified candidate interested in completing the clinical training required to become a Licensed Orthotist Assistant. Medicos is an accredited facility and can provide the required supervised clinical training for eligible candidates pursuing the Texas LOA pathway.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working independently and committed to providing an excellent patient experience. This position also offers opportunities to build relationships with orthopedic physicians, OB-GYN practices and other referral partners.

Compensation

• $2,500 monthly base pay
• $3,000 monthly base pay for a qualified licensed orthotist
• $20 per clean completed fitting
• Monthly volume bonuses up to $1,000
• Monthly quality bonus of $200
• Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel

Work Schedule

• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
• 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a one-hour unpaid lunch
• 24 hours per week
• Primarily daytime weekday hours
• Travel within an assigned geographic area is required

Fitting Expectations

• Complete 10 or more fittings per scheduled workday
• Organize appointments geographically to maximize productivity
• Use designated Medicos, clinic or physician-office locations whenever possible
• Maintain documentation accuracy and patient-care standards while meeting productivity goals
• Complete all required fitting documentation by the established deadline
• House calls will be exceptions and must be approved

Primary Responsibilities

• Fit patients with prescribed orthotic devices within the employee’s credentials, training and authorized scope
• Educate patients on proper application, use, care and safety
• Confirm the correct patient, prescription, product and fitting instructions
• Obtain all required patient signatures and proof-of-delivery documentation
• Submit complete and accurate fitting documentation on time
• Coordinate appointments with patients, clinics and the Medicos team
• Communicate scheduling delays, product issues and patient concerns promptly
• Complete required patient follow-up and assist with appropriate device adjustments
• Request patient feedback following eligible fittings
• Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and company policies
• Manage assigned inventory and accurately report product usage
• Support training, workflow and quality-improvement initiatives as the fitting program expands

Inside Sales and Growth Opportunities

The Orthotic Fitting Specialist will also have opportunities to:

• Connect with orthopedic physicians, OB-GYN practices and their clinical teams
• Build relationships with current and prospective referral partners
• Educate practices about Medicos’ orthotic fitting and DME services
• Identify potential referral and partnership opportunities
• Communicate provider needs and opportunities to Medicos leadership
• Support inside-sales and provider-outreach initiatives

Candidates who demonstrate strong fitting performance, relationship-building skills and business-development ability may advance from a Fitting Specialist to Senior Fitting Specialist and then Lead Fitting Specialist and ultimately graduate into a Sales Consultant role.

Suggested Qualifications

It is preferred if the applicant meets at least one of the following:

• Current Texas Licensed Orthotist Assistant
• Current ABC Certified Fitter-orthotics
• Current BOC Certified Orthotic Fitter
• Completed the required college coursework and are eligible to enter the Texas LOA training pathway

Candidates entering the LOA pathway must have completed the following coursework through an accredited college or university:

• Eight credit hours of anatomy and physiology
• Three credit hours of medical terminology
• Three credit hours of physics

Medicos LOA Training Pathway

Medicos can provide eligible employees with:

• Required licensed supervision

• The required 1,000-hour orthotic clinical residency

The selected trainee must complete all required state applications, supervision agreements and licensing requirements.

Additional Qualifications

• Previous orthotic, DME, clinical or direct patient-care experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient-service skills
• Excellent organization and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage a changing schedule
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
• Ability to transport and safely handle orthotic devices
• Comfort using mobile applications and electronic documentation systems
• Ability to maintain quality and accuracy in a high-volume environment
• Commitment to professional conduct and patient confidentiality

Performance Standards

• 10 or more completed fittings per scheduled workday
• 100% completion of required fitting documentation
• At least 95% of documentation submitted on time
• Review requests offered to at least 90% of eligible patients
• Low correction and rework rates
• Professional service with no substantiated clinic or patient complaints
• Accurate inventory and product-use reporting
