Senior Mechanical Engineer | New York, NYIMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in New York, NY, to lead the planning, design, and delivery of healthcare-focused mechanical systems—including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. In this role, you’ll collaborate with clients and multi-discipline teams to develop code-compliant, high-performing solutions that support safe, efficient, and resilient facilities.Principal ResponsibilitiesLead the design of healthcare mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) from concept through constructionServe as a technical leader for project execution, coordination, and delivery across internal and external stakeholdersDevelop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and completenessCoordinate with other disciplines to resolve clashes, improve constructability, and support integrated design outcomesSupport client communication and technical decision-making throughout project developmentGuide quality control efforts and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and IMEG practicesProvide construction administration support, including responses to RFIs/submittals and field observations as neededMentor and support the growth of engineering staff through technical guidance and project leadershipRequired Qualifications and Skills •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license14+ years of experienceThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join Us IMEG puts people first—with a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
