Director Of Accounting
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Director of Accounting to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $175,000 to $200,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations including financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger management activities.
- Oversee month end and year end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage audit activities by coordinating documentation, responding to requests, and serving as a key contact for external reviewers.
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and operational processes that support compliance and efficiency.
- Partner with leadership teams on strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and business improvement projects.
Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrate at least three years of experience managing accounting teams and overseeing financial close activities.
- Possess strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting requirements, and audit processes.
- Maintain proficiency with accounting software, enterprise resource planning systems, and advanced Excel functionality.

- Apply strong analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate financial performance and improve accounting operations.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities while mentoring staff and promoting accountability within the team.
- Communicate effectively with executives, auditors, operational leaders, and cross functional stakeholders.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, controls, and reporting requirements.
- Bring professional certification, regulated industry experience, or experience supporting organizational growth and process improvement initiatives considered beneficial.
