CookWorking Title: CookPosition Grade: 05Position Summary: Join a fast paced team in providing nutritionally sound meals to young children. Responsibilities include: working with a team to serve meals to approximately 250 children, three times per day. Coordinating meal service with kitchen personnel and classroom staff. Participating in meal preparation, cooking, service and clean-up. Ordering supplies as necessary. Participating in required trainings and workshops, Center events, and functions. This is a term, full-time, benefits eligible position upon the date of hire. If located at the UNM Children's Campus, successful candidate must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications: Training directly related to food production. Experience: working in a commercial kitchen. Attending to daily maintenance of kitchen equipment. Implementing USDA Food Program policies and procedures. Directly relating to food handling, preparation and customer service.
