About Mass Audubon
Mass Audubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England. Founded in 1896 by two women who fought for the protection of birds, Mass Audubon carries on their legacy by focusing on the greatest challenges facing the environment today: the loss of biodiversity, inequitable access to nature, and climate change. With the help of our 160,000 members and supporters, we protect wildlife, conserve and restore resilient land, advocate for impactful environmental policies, offer nationally recognized education programs for adults and children, and provide endless opportunities to experience the outdoors at our wildlife sanctuaries. Explore, find inspiration, and take action at massaudubon.org.
About This Position
The Northeast region of Massachusetts includes some of the most spectacular and well-visited wildlife sanctuaries in the Mass Audubon network. The sanctuaries of the Northeast Region sit in the Greater Boston, Merrimack Valley and North Shore areas of the Commonwealth. They include Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, which sits along the Charles River and includes miles of trails, a nature center, and a special reputation for giving the community a unique nature-based experience. Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Wildlife Sanctuary is located along the Merrimack River and has long been the visitor portal to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's Parker River Wildlife Refuge and home to some of the most spectacular and diverse birding on the Atlantic Coast. Five of our sanctuaries within this region (Habitat, Broadmoor, Joppa Flats, Blue Hills Trailside, and Museum of American Bird Art Nature Center) are properties with nature centers that offer trails, summer camps, preschool, and daily programming for visitors. In total, the sanctuaries within the Northeast Region see roughly 150,000 visitors annually. Mass Audubon is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to assist with the administrative, logistical, and operational management of the Northeast Region's volunteer cohort. The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with the region's Operations Manager on a daily basis to manage volunteer onboarding, opportunity posting, hour entry, analysis, and reporting. This position also involves directly working with volunteers and members of the public, the Statewide Volunteer Coordinator, members of the region's Property and Education teams, and other internal Mass Audubon departments. This is a heavily administrative-focused position with a focus on volunteer analysis, goal-setting, and best practices; onsite work with volunteer groups and individuals is also required. Application Instructions
Please submit a resume and cover letter with your ADP application. Responsibilities
