Mental Health Safety Specialist

UPMC

UPMC is seeking a Mental Health Safety Specialist I to support a safe, therapeutic environment for patients in behavioral health and medical settings. In this role, you will monitor patient safety, assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation, support treatment plans, and collaborate with nurses, clinicians, and security. Responsibilities include observing high-risk patients, documenting behavior, assisting with safe transports, and following safety and restraint protocols while modeling UPMC’s mission-driven, patient-focused and culturally sensitive care standards.
