Registered Nurse - Internal Travel Team - ICU/PACU/Procedural - RN

Responsibilities The registered nurse (RN) in the Internal Travel Team will rotate across Mayo Clinic sites in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin as determined by patient care needs. RNs hired in this role will: Complete orientation coursework including Foundations of Critical Care Nursing (FCCN) and ACLS (if not already certified), or substitute PCCN certification for FCCN coursework. Be assigned to ICU, PACU, or procedural areas and float to PCU and Med/Surg areas as needed. Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Support professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care, adhering to the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and resource availability. Mentor, teach and participate in committees or projects. Travel routinely to various locations, requiring flexibility and adaptability. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program or in candidacy process, recognized by ACEN, CCNE or NLN CNEA. If graduation from a non‑ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA program, at least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting. If graduation more than two years ago, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic. Minimum of one year RN experience in a PCU (ICU step‑down) or ICU setting. Staffing Pool Experience Requirements: 1 year RN experience (within the last two years) in Operating Room, PACU or Intensive Care Unit practice settings. TN sponsorship eligibility; holders of F1 status eligible for post‑completion OPT; role not eligible for F‑1 STEM OPT extension; requires state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification. Additional Qualifications External traveler or float pool experience preferred. Mayo Clinic cross‑site experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on‑call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations; demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and excellent critical thinking skills. Licenses & Certifications Current multi‑state RN licenses: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida. BLS (Basic Life Support) valid for 90 days post‑start date from AHA or Red Cross. Additional specialty certification/training as required by work area. Compensation & Benefits Fixed hourly rate of $66.80. A travel supplement may be provided, with amounts reviewed and adjusted quarterly. Comprehensive benefits package is also included. Schedule Full‑time, 72 hours per pay period, variable schedule with potential weekend work. Location Mayo Clinic locations include Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; Rochester, Minnesota; and Mayo Clinic Health System campuses throughout the Midwest.
