Counselor III (LPC, LPCA, LCSW, or LMSW) - Humble, TX

Location: Atascocita - 2310 1/2 Atascocita Rd. Humble, TX 77396 About Our Atascocita Location (Harris County): Gateway's largest facility, Atascocita is a residential correctional center focused solely on substance use treatment for court-ordered clients. With 12 buildings and nearly 500 clients, the facility provides a structured, secure environment without armed guards. Staff work collaboratively in a team of 170, including counselors, probation officers, and support staff. The location is undergoing major renovations to become a state-of-the-art treatment center. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM The Counselor III is responsible for: Completes comprehensive assessments and treatment planning and provides counseling services to clients. Develops and implements complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social or mental health issues. Serves as professional resource to others in resolving complex case problems and may provide clinical supervision as needed. Develops and may facilitate trainings for treatment staff. Assumes responsibility for overseeing counselors in absence of supervisor. Requirements: Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field required. Current professional license in the state of Texas required as a LCSW, LPC, LPCA, or LMSW. At least 4 years clinical experience desired, with concurrent experience in the treatment of substance abuse and dual-diagnoses highly preferred. Previous work experience in a corrections environment a plus. Must be able to obtain security clearance as required by Harris County. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy, to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, read. Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data. Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises. Compensation (based on experience and credentials): The range is between $60,000-$65,000. Gateway Foundation conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
