Job Details: Job Location: Kidder Creek - Etna, CA, Position Type: Summer Staff, Salary Range: $350.00 - $400.00Salary, Travel Percentage: Kidder Creek Location, Job Shift: Kidder Creek, Position Objective: The Kidder Creek (“KC”) Maintenance Assistant oversees irrigation and lawn care of camp, assists Facilities Manager with other projects, and assists in the maintenance of camp to ensure that students have an experience in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values. General Qualifications: The Kidder Creek (“KC”) Maintenance Assistant is aMinisterial position.Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats. Key Job Accountabilities: Ensure safety and well-being of all campers and staff using the KC facilities, keeping safety in mind at all times. Care for, maintain and irrigate all lawn areas, keeping records as necessary. Promptly report any hazards or dangerous situations to the Facilities Manager. Assist in other program areas as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: Summer staff members and others assigned to facilities tasks. Qualifications: Education/Certifications/Licenses: High school graduate. 1 year’ college experience preferred. Must possess a valid current driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Work Experience: Prior camp experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture. Ability to demonstrate a personal, committed and thought-through faith in Christ. Attention to detail and follow-through, creative, flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program. Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities. Physical Demands: Requires lifting and transporting 25-50 lbs. of gear and equipment off and on vehicles, up and down elevation changes. The physical environment requires the employee to talk and hear both in person from close and long distances and by phone or radio Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, use of both eyes, ability to distinguish basic colors and shades; depth perception, Peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus Additional Requirements/Skills: Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living. Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes. Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements. Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
