About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Client ICU, Critical Care, Cardiovascular ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU setting, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma Center License: Current Illinois License Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong ICU experience, willingness to float to Step-Down ICU Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our ICU and Step-Down units. Candidates must have strong ICU experience. Candidates should be willing to float to the Step-Down ICU. The candidate must have a current Illinois nursing license, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, education verification is required. Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and state laws. Document according to standards of care. Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy. Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilize clinical expertise to guide other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care. Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalate issues to the appropriate chain of command.
