Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - One year of Main Client PACU experience required. - Pediatric experience in the operating room required. License: - NC license or compact license required. Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS - CPI Must-Have: - Experience with Meditech charting system highly preferred. Description: The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a specialized unit providing immediate postoperative care to patients following surgery. Patients are monitored at a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. PACU nurses are responsible for managing patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and other postoperative needs before patients are transferred to the Ambulatory Surgery Unit for continued observation. The PACU operates as a collaborative, team-based department focused on patient safety and satisfaction. Staff work together to ensure a positive patient experience while utilizing the latest surgical technology and equipment. Collaboration occurs with board-certified surgeons and experienced healthcare professionals. Candidates must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, typically one night per week.
