Behavioral Health Patient Navigator - Psychiatry

The Patient Navigator (PN) is responsible for implementing day‑to‑day activities for signature programs (e.g., Depression Recovery Center, Women’s Behavioral Health, Suicide Prevention, Trauma Recovery) within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. The PN works alongside an interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists focused on improving mental and behavioral health across the lifespan. The PN assists with the recruitment and enrollment process for individual and group‑based interventions by engaging with interested individuals, reviewing and triaging referrals within and outside the medical center, providing detailed information about program content, costs, and scheduling, and addressing program inquiries. The PN supports all aspects of navigation through programs including enrollment and payment for upcoming programs, assists with individual and group scheduling, helps participants access behavioral health resources, and provides ongoing support throughout the programs. In coordination with program team members across signature programs, the PN manages the scheduling and posting of upcoming offerings and keeps relevant websites up to date. The PN plays a key role in quality assurance and research projects, including supporting IRB processes and coordinating the collection of satisfaction and outcome data. For group offerings, the PN maintains records of attendance and completion rates and schedules any follow-up visits with a program team member. Additionally, the PN contributes to advertising and community outreach efforts aimed at supporting enrollment and reaching diverse populations, maintains relationships with community partners, and coordinates outreach events. Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in psychology, communications, public health, or related field. 2‑4 years of experience working with patients, public health services, and/or community‑based programming preferred. Work settings The PN will work on‑site at an ambulatory clinic, 40 hours per week with 1 hour unpaid lunch. A hybrid schedule may be available after the first 12 months at the discretion of leadership.
