Hybrid Cloud Operational Architect
Duration: 6+ months Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Lead the definition and governance of the target-state operational architecture across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments within a telecommunications environment. Drive resilience, observability, automation, security, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and telecommunications regulatory requirements. Partner with infrastructure, network, security, and operations teams to improve service reliability, operational maturity, and platform scalability.
Requirements:
- Telecommunications industry experience.
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) leadership.
- Infrastructure architecture governance.
Responsibilities:
- Define operational architecture standards for hybrid cloud, data center, network, security, and middleware platforms.
- Lead architecture reviews, capacity planning assessments, network design reviews, firewall reviews, and operational readiness evaluations.
- Establish observability frameworks covering metrics, logs, traces, Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), error budgets, AIOps practices, and alert optimization.
- Drive SRE adoption through reliability reviews, GitHub Actions enablement, automation initiatives, operational maturity assessments, and continuous improvement programs.
- Own disaster recovery, business continuity planning, multi-region resilience strategies, chaos engineering exercises, incident command processes, wargames, and post-incident reviews.
- Define governance standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, automation guardrails, change management, release management, and operational controls aligned with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
- Support operational management of platform hardening exceptions, TSF activities, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and EProxy troubleshooting, CCP rationalization and capacity sizing, infrastructure consolidation initiatives, physical quotation processes, and End of Service Life (EOSL) planning.
- Ensure operational architecture decisions align with security, compliance, audit, and telecommunications regulatory requirements.
