Overview of the Acute Care Unit

Our Acute Care Unit is designed to meet diverse patient needs, allowing nurses to care for a variety of patients, including those in ICU, step-down, and medical-surgical settings based on their acuity. Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Collaborating with medical providers, the RN offers pre-operative and post-operative nursing care while advocating for patients to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
  • Carry out procedures or functions as directed by medical providers.
  • Document care administration in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment relevant to cardiac and medical-surgical patient care.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing.
