Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: Up to 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - One year of Medical-Surgical experience - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required - Epic experience required Description: Holiday coverage is required; however, any requests for time off during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. An ASAP start is needed for backfill. The position requires 36 hours weekly, with the possibility of picking up additional hours as needed. Weekend coverage is required every other week. No holiday requests will be accommodated; dates may be discussed with management for unit capacity consideration. Night shift patient ratios are 1:5-6, with no licensed practical nurse on nights. Charge nurses will take fewer patients when the unit is fully staffed. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with common diagnoses such as pneumonia, heart failure, GI bleed, DKA, AMS, and sepsis. The unit supports interdisciplinary care, involving various services including physical therapy and respiratory services. The average daily census is approximately 33 patients, with 33 beds available. Clinical skills required include managing ports, blood product administration, oxygen administration, IV management, wound care, and more. Travelers will be the first to float to other units as needed. Applicants must provide proof of flu vaccination with their submission. Background checks will be performed, and any issues must be disclosed upfront. References must be provided from supervisory-level individuals. Previous staff can return after a defined period, and specific vaccination exemptions must be submitted within a specified timeframe. Modules are required, completed during orientation, and on an annual basis.
