Software Engineer - Infrastructure

Job Title

Must Haves: • 3+ years of experience in Infra Software/DevOps • Strong with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Cloud (like AWS) • Degree in computer science (or similar field), and ideally from an above average/good school • Strong communication skills - will be doing about 1/3 customer facing work - so either need to have done that before or want to do that. Work Experience / Misc: • Experience working in Infrastructure / DevOps at one or more of the following would be the ideal profile: o Hyperscaler (AWS, Google, Microsoft) o Mid/large-sized companies and high growth blue chip startups like Scale AI, Coinbase, Sigma, Linear, etc. o Self-hosted startups like Retool or SourceGraph o Banking - startup banks like Mercury/Brex would be ideal, but even larger more traditional banking could work • Strong background in computer networking • Experience working in customer-facing roles or strong communication skills and wanting to work in a customer-facing role • Solutions engineering background is good as long as the candidate has the infrastructure skills • Should be excited to work in-person in SF. • Should want to be hands-on with code, not looking to transition into a managerial role anytime very soon. Some Candidate Screening Questions: • What is the extent of their infrastructure experience? • What have they done with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)? • Have they been in a customer-facing role before? Are they excited about being customer-facing? • Can they work onsite in San Francisco every day? Role Responsibilities (in order of how much time they'll likely spend on each): • Design and implement robust infrastructure to help Greptile keep up with growing usage • Work with our largest enterprise customers to help deploy Greptile into their environments • Operationalize the on-premise deployment process so we can serve smaller customers without needing much hands-on work
