Radiology Tech Extern PRN

Hourly Wage Estimate $19.78 - $27.70 per hour Job Summary As an Imaging Student Extern, you will build valuable hands‑on experience by learning from experienced team members who are committed to your growth. You’ll support the radiology team, performing imaging examinations under supervision, maintaining technical and patient‑care skills, and ensuring quality diagnostic results. Responsibilities Perform imaging procedures for patients of all ages under supervision of a radiologist, supervisor, and a registered technologist. Prepare patients for imaging, obtain histories, verify identities, assist with positioning, and communicate clearly and compassionately. Safely transport patients between areas, supporting their comfort and emotional needs during procedures. Set up imaging rooms, manage turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment. Serve as a vital connection between patients, technologists, and the care team by communicating needs and concerns promptly. Assist patients and physicians as directed, administer contrast media, and prepare sterile trays or fields. Maintain radiation protection protocols for patients and employees. Prepare, process, and document imaging information to complete exams. Take ownership of personal growth by participating in learning opportunities and following safety and confidentiality standards. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications ARRT eligible or enrolled in an accredited radiology program. Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC. Must be a senior‑year student in a Radiologic Technology program. Familiar with a majority of diagnostic radiology procedures and capable of applying technical skills to all age patients. Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. No travel required.
