Special Education Teacher

Help Students Reach Their Potential TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with individualized educational services and support. We are currently seeking Certified Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in the San Antonio area. These positions are ideal for educators who value inclusive learning environments and are committed to helping students achieve meaningful academic, social, and personal growth through specialized instruction. Your Role and Responsibilities As a Special Education Teacher, you will design and deliver individualized instruction while working closely with campus teams and families to address each student’s unique learning needs. In this role, you will: Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs in accordance with student needs and required timelines Provide specialized instruction based on students’ academic levels, learning profiles, and educational goals Modify curriculum, classroom materials, assignments, and instructional methods to improve accessibility Use assessments, classroom observations, and progress data to guide instructional decisions Support students in building academic skills, self-confidence, social development, and emotional well-being Incorporate assistive technology, visual supports, and other instructional resources when appropriate Coordinate with general education teachers, related-service providers, campus staff, and families Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and contribute to the development of measurable student goals Maintain accurate service records, progress reports, and other required special education documentation Follow district procedures and applicable state and federal special education requirements Qualifications for This Position Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field Current and valid Texas Special Education teaching certification Strong knowledge of IEP procedures, differentiated instruction, and school-based special education services Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team members Strong classroom leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills Master's degree is preferred Previous experience teaching in a school-based special education setting is a plus Work Setting and Scheduling Options On-site, school-based assignments in the San Antonio area Opportunities to support students from prekindergarten through high school Flexible placement options, including: Full-time assignments Part-time schedules Placements coordinated according to your qualifications, preferences, availability, and current district needs What You Can Expect from TX-STAR Competitive compensation based on relevant experience Flexible scheduling opportunities Dependable bi-weekly pay Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance options A supportive and people-centered workplace culture Continued guidance from experienced program staff Employee referral bonus opportunities Professional learning and career development resources Access to an established network of school district partnerships throughout Texas Learn More About TX-STAR Since 2010, TX-STAR Speech Language Services has helped school districts across Texas connect with qualified special education and student-support professionals.
