The Quality Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that all products meet established quality standards by accurately collecting, recording, and analyzing dimensional and process data. This onsite position focuses on inspection activities within a manufacturing environment, supporting quality engineering and supervision to maintain consistent product quality and compliance with design and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Accurately input all required quality and dimensional data by recording information in processing books and other documentation systems.
• Collect, organize, and distribute quality data to relevant stakeholders to support ongoing quality control and improvement efforts.
• Gather and interpret dimensional data using statistical process control (SPC) information from suppliers or from gauges used in-process and in final assembly.
• Perform measurements and inspections using various micrometers, indicators, and gauges to verify that parts meet specifications.
• Review and apply design records and control plans to ensure inspection activities align with documented requirements.
• Assist with quality inspections in assigned areas, acting as a liaison between quality engineering, quality leadership, and production supervision.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly and promptly to appropriate personnel to support timely decision-making and corrective actions.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and process control.
• Carry out any additional responsibilities or tasks assigned by quality engineering, quality leadership, or management.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and quality data in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow all safety guidelines and work practices while performing inspections on the production floor.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues and ensure smooth production flow.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address quality-related issues.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively share inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and data recording.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
• Ability to interact effectively with other departments and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across the facility.
• Consistently excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently as part of daily tasks.
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for periods of up to 12 hours.
• Availability to work weekends when necessary to support production and quality needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in an automotive plant is helpful and strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing experience in a production or quality-related role is beneficial.
• Comfort using various micrometers, indicators, and gauges in a production environment.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) data and its application in quality inspection.
• Ability to serve as a liaison between quality engineering, quality leadership, and production supervision.
• Willingness to support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and quality records.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position at a large automotive manufacturing plant, working in a fast-paced production and quality control environment. The role involves frequent movement on the production floor, including standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of up to 12 hours, and lifting up to 25 pounds as needed. You will work with inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, gauges, and utilize SPC data, design records, and control plans as part of daily activities. The standard shift is 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with weekend work required when necessary to support production demands. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to plant procedures, and collaboration across departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellabell, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
