CNC Programmer-Direct Hire

Job Description

This role focuses on programming and supporting CNC machining operations, with an emphasis on 3-axis and 5-axis routers and CNC mills. You will create and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and SolidWorks, prepare machines for production, load jobs, and oversee machining processes to ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis routers and CNC mills using Mastercam.
• Use SolidWorks models and drawings to generate accurate toolpaths and machining strategies.
• Prepare CNC machines for production by setting up tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Load and run CNC programs, monitoring operations to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Oversee machining processes, making adjustments as needed to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with a small production team to coordinate workflows and meet production schedules.
• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain organized program files and documentation for repeat and new jobs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in CNC programming and machining practices.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of CNC programming experience.
• Hands-on experience programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers.
• Experience programming CNC mills.
• Proficiency with Mastercam for creating and editing CNC programs.
• Ability to work from SolidWorks models and drawings for programming.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and workholding.
• Ability to prepare, load, and oversee CNC machines during production.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

• Experience working in a small production team environment.
• Comfort working with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
• Strong problem-solving skills for resolving programming and machining issues.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with production and other stakeholders.

Work Environment

You work on-site as part of a small production team of 2–3 people, fostering close collaboration and direct communication. The standard schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment centers around CNC routers and CNC mills, with programming tools such as Mastercam and SolidWorks used daily. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety on the production floor, and the facility operates as a professional manufacturing environment focused on quality and efficiency.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
