Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in a combined 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit located in New York, US. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-acuity care to a diverse patient population in a supportive environment.

The unit maintains an average daily census of 8 patients, allowing for focused patient care. Nurses will manage patient ratios of 1:2 in the ICU and 1:3 in the IMC, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and intervention for critically ill and recovering individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to critically ill and intermediate care patients.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, titrate vasoactive drips, and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and manage complex medical equipment, including mechanical ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and infusion pumps.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health record documentation.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
