Step into a pivotal role serving elementary-aged learners as a Sign Language Interpreter on a contract basis. This position is tailored for passionate professionals eager to make a difference within a school-based setting and provide essential support to one elementary student. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid and active NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter license (must submit proof with application)
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
• Demonstrated experience with ECATS
• Previous school-based interpreting experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Professional, adaptable, and committed to student-focused practices

Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpreting services for one elementary student, facilitating both classroom learning and peer interaction
• Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to promote the student’s success
• Interpret and effectuate lesson materials and school activities ensuring accessibility
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all communication exchanges
• Utilize ECATS for student support documentation and compliance tasks
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development as needed

This full-time position consists of 37.5 hours per week, following the school’s calendar through May 28, 2027. Interviews will be conducted remotely via Teams for your convenience.
