Overview
Americrane Rentals is seeking a dependable and experienced Truck & Trailer Tire Mechanic / Field Mechanic to support our crane, trucking, and heavy haul operations. This position is responsible for maintaining tires, wheels, and basic mechanical systems across a large fleet of trucks, trailers, cranes, and support equipment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, respond quickly in the field, and help keep equipment operational with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tire repairs, replacements, rotations, and inspections on trucks, trailers, cranes, and support equipment
• Diagnose and repair tire-related issues in both shop and field environments
• Respond to roadside service calls and field breakdowns as needed
• Inspect wheels, hubs, brakes, air systems, and suspension components for damage or wear
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs on fleet equipment
• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and inventory of tires and repair materials
• Operate service trucks and equipment safely and professionally
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Equipment stays operational with minimal downtime
• Tire and wheel issues are identified before they become failures
• Field calls are handled efficiently and professionally
• Repairs are completed safely and correctly the first time
• You take ownership of your work and can operate without constant supervision

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial truck, trailer, or heavy equipment tire service required
• Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy trucks and trailers preferred
• Ability to safely jack, lift, and service heavy equipment tires
• Experience with air brake systems, wheel seals, hubs, and suspension components is a plus
• Valid drivers license required; CDL is a plus
• Ability to work overtime and respond to after-hours service calls when needed
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail required
