We are seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Child Care Workers to join our team. Key Responsibilities

Child Care Workers are responsible for the overall care, supervision, and development of children in our childcare program. Responsibilities include:

● Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a secure environment and responding appropriately to emergencies or health concerns.

● Provide daily care, including feeding, diapering, dressing, grooming, and assisting with toilet training for younger children.

● Plan and lead age-appropriate educational activities, arts and crafts, games, music, story time, and outdoor play that encourage learning and development.

● Encourage positive behavior, teach social skills, and provide appropriate guidance and discipline in a caring and respectful manner.

● Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and supervisors regarding each child’s progress, behavior, and daily activities.

● Prepare meals and snacks, promote healthy nutrition, and administer first aid or medications according to program policies and parent authorization.

● Observe children’s developmental milestones, emotional well-being, and social interactions, reporting concerns to supervisors or parents when appropriate.

● Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.

Qualifications

● High school diploma or GED required.

● Additional education in Early Childhood Education is encouraged through Mount Hood Community College, Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R), or approved online training programs.

● Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required.

● Experience working with children who have developmental delays or diverse learning needs is a plus.

Required Certifications

We strongly support and assist employees in obtaining all required certifications, including:

● Central Background Registry enrollment and approval

● First Aid and CPR Certification

● Current Food Handler Card

All required training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. Employees are allowed to begin working immediately while completing certifications, and paid training time is provided.
