Job Description: Contract - RN - Day Surgery Outpatient (786) - 13 Weeks - 5:30AM-4PM & 8:30AM-7PM 10 hr shifts x 4 Day (combo of shifts 0530 to 1600 & 0830 to 1900) No call No weekends

Unit Information: Outpatient Surgery (78677) Location: Austin, TX Building: St. David’s South Austin Medical Center Floor: 1st

General Information: Number of Beds - 16, Number of Staff 25 Type of staff: Day Shift (0530 to 1600) 1 Charge RN & up to 7 staff RNs, 1 PCT (07 to 1730), & 1 Unit Clerk (0800 to 1630). Evening Shift (0830 to 1900)- 1 Charge & 3 Staff RNs Late Evening Shift (1230 to 2100) 1 RN Weekend Day Shift (0600 to 1830)- 1 RN Weekend Night Shift- none, covered by OR staff & PACU Patient Ratios 2 patients per RN in Preop, Up to 3 Patients per RN in Phase 2 Postop. Utilizes a team nursing approach in postop area.

Skill Set: Most recruited for: RNs Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Previous Preop & Phase 2 Postop experience Competent & comfortable starting IVs Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Previous Meditech Experience

List typical procedures performed on unit(s): PreOp for procedures. Includes wide variety of procedures (open hearts to port placements & endoscopy patients). Phase 2 recovery/postop discharge education & discharging patients home. Expected to work in a team environment. Best personality Fit: Flexible Organized & Efficient with Time. Team player
