Service and Installation Engineer

Job DescriptionWho You AreIn this role as a Service and Installation Engineer, will support the installation and service of robots and robotic systems, primarily for paint and sealer applications, by providing technical assistance to customers and taking on responsibility for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing of robots and peripheral devices. You will also be responsible for supervising and providing training to Associate Service and Installation Engineers as necessary.You should be a customer-focused, problem-solver with a “service first” mindset who has experience with FANUC technology (paint and/or sealer systems) and skilled in troubleshooting technical issues.How It’s DoneInstall, startup and debug of the system/unit being installed, mainly paint and sealer applicationsSupport the installation through buyoff and customer acceptanceProvide timely updates back to FAC, including any incidental service issues that may arise during installationProvide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problemsTroubleshoot problems and secure any needed parts as neededRepair, maintain, rework, or retrofit of product and equipmentComplete timely documentation and reports (Installation and Service reports, SVMs, Punch list, FSR’s, MIR’s, Expense, and Time Reports)Provide technical support to various parts of FAC including Hotline, training segments, and to the training of Associate Service EngineersCoordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedule with Service Supervisor/Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and completion of service calls or projectsFollow Engineering guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with the product specifications, laws and regulationsProcure supplies, tooling and associated installation equipmentTravel to customer sites as required (~80%)What You NeedAssociate’s Degree or equivalent technical education; or equivalent relevant experience3+ years of experience working in a related environment with robotics integration, installation, or service repairsExperience with intricate mechanical and electrical repairs and troubleshootingProven experience analyzing and solving service, engineering, and robot installation problemsMust be conversant in at least two of the following areas: electrical, electronic, computer science, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC, or mechanicalExperience reading and interpreting prints and related technical documentationMust have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s licenseMust be able to drive throughout the organization’s service area for business as requiredWhat Would Be Even BetterBachelor’s Degree in related fieldCustomer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skillsIt’s Your MoveJoining FANUC means becoming part of a team that values your unique perspective and encourages continuous learning and collaboration.
